Meaning “Kingfisher”, Halcyon is a brand-new four-bedroom villa, built and rented exclusively by Prestige Villas of Corfu. Set in a peaceful rural location, it enjoys beautiful panoramic views across the Ionian Sea, with St Nikolas Beach just 200 metres away and the laid-back beach resort of Paramonas within easy reach.
It's a wonderful choice for anyone looking to escape the busier parts of the island and enjoy a more relaxed, authentic side of Corfu.
The Villa | Contemporary Comfort with a View
Villa Halcyon is designed around its spectacular setting, with generous glass doors, contemporary interiors, and outdoor spaces that make the most of the sea views.
The main living areas are on the first floor, where an open-plan sitting room, dining area, and modern kitchen come together in one bright, welcoming space. A contemporary fireplace adds warmth and character, while the kitchen's feature island makes it a natural gathering point.
The master bedroom is also on this level, with its own en-suite shower room and separate dressing room.
What I particularly like is how the living space opens directly onto a large veranda running across the full width of the villa. It's the perfect spot for breakfast overlooking the sea, a lazy afternoon with a book, or evening drinks as the sun sets over the water.
The Bedrooms | Four Private Suites
The villa accommodates up to eight guests across four spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, separate dressing room, and beautiful sea views.
The master suite occupies the upper floor, while the remaining three bedrooms are on the ground floor, offering a little more separation and privacy.
Two of the ground-floor bedrooms have double beds, while the third can be arranged as a super-king or twin. The twin configuration also has a bath in addition to its shower.
Large glass doors open onto furnished private verandas, allowing each bedroom to enjoy a direct connection to the gardens and surrounding scenery.
It's a practical layout for families or groups of friends, with everyone having their own comfortable space.
Outdoor Living | The Infinity Pool and Terraces
The outdoor spaces are one of Villa Halcyon's biggest attractions.
The 10 x 6 metre infinity pool sits within generous tiled terraces, surrounded by comfortable sun loungers and parasols. It's a lovely place to spend the day, with the sea stretching out in front of you and very little to disturb the peace.
The upper veranda is equally appealing, with an outdoor dining table for eight and a relaxed lounge area furnished with rattan sofas and a coffee table.
It's easy to imagine long lunches here, followed by an afternoon by the pool and an evening spent watching the colours change across the horizon.
The entire plot is fenced and private, with a driveway and parking for several vehicles.
The Location | A Quieter Side of Corfu
Villa Halcyon is particularly well suited to those who want to experience Corfu away from its busier resorts.
St Nikolas Beach is just 200 metres away, offering a secluded spot for swimming, snorkelling, and relaxing by the sea. Paramonas Beach, around 500 metres from the villa, has a sandy shoreline and a selection of traditional seafront tavernas.
For a longer walk, Prasoudi Beach is approximately 30 minutes away on foot, with the family-run Oceanos Restaurant nearby.
The surrounding area retains a wonderfully local feel, with traditional Corfiot villages, unspoilt beaches, and beautiful countryside. Agios Mattheos is a useful nearby village for supermarkets, a bakery, a butcher, and other everyday essentials.
There is also boat hire in the area, making it possible to explore more of the coastline from the water.
A rental car is recommended, particularly if you want to discover different beaches and villages during your stay.
